Jewelers for Children

Since 1999, Jewelers for Children has donated more than $51 million to help children who are the victim of catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect.

Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC has donated more than $ 51 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect through our charity partners St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Make-A-Wish® America, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the National CASA Association.  JFC also provides support to the Make-A-Wish® International and the Santa-America Fund.  This nationwide success is due to the continuing generosity of jewelry trade organizations, jewelry and watch manufacturing companies, jewelry retail stores, individual jewelry professionals, and jewelry consumers.

  • COMMUNITY commitment—business wise and personal—is a cornerstone of the Martin Jewelers’ tradition. Our collections of watches and jewelery are world class. But our hearts, family and friends are deeply rooted here. That’s why, when local businesses deserted traditional downtowns for malls, we chose to stay right here and put our energies into our community.
  • Perhaps the most visible example is the hand-cast, Victorian era replica clock Martin Jewelers in cooperation with Rolex Watch USA gifted to the town of Cranford for the revitalized Eastman Plaza parkscape. .
  • For over 50 years Martin Jewelers has sponsored from a Little League Baseball Team through complimentary "sprucing up" of treasured artifacts for a host of churches and temples. Martin Jewelers’ history of community involvement touches all facets of area life. For almost eight decades, Martin Jewelers has been the source of after-school and summer employment for high school and college students. The experience has encouraged many to pursue business studies–some, even the jewelry business. For one alumni, his work experience resulted in an award-winning architectural thesis.
  • Membership in the Cranford Chamber of Commerce and The Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce has placed Martin Jewelers squarely among those working to enhance the vitality of the area while retaining its unique charm. A history of leadership roles is reflected in the in-store display of some of the awards.
  • Martin Jewelers is the proud sponsor of numerous area charity golf events every year. You will also find Martin Jewelers as a supporter of local amateur theater and coral groups plus the charitable organizations and special projects that thread together community and create a desirable quality of life.
  • On a personal level, store owner Ellen Ramer has played a leadership role in the Soroptimist International of the Greater Westfield Area, serving as president for several terms. Her philanthropic endeavors have also included Center for Hope, Play for Piink and non-profits that enhance the lives of women and children.
  • Ellen is also committed to working with her community of fellow jewelry professionals. She has served in leadership roles in the New Jersey Guild of The American Gem Society, the professional organization dedicated to consumer protection and continuing education for jewelry professionals. The organization also supports "Jewelers for Children", a philanthropic arm dedicated to helping to ensure better lives and futures for children.
  • As an independent fine jewelry retailer, a business where the owner is in the store, Martin Jewelers is proud to be prominently woven into the framework of all that community means.
